When the transmission fluid breaks down this way, the seals and gaskets that help maintain fluid pressure will begin to harden, which can lead to leaks and loss of pressure. Keeping the transmission properly cooled helps to keep these soft and pliable and functioning correctly.

Taking your car in for regular tune-ups is more than just running through a laundry list of potential problems. It can mean the difference between a prohibitively expensive breakdown and your car running smoothly for years to come. While this regular maintenance check isn’t a cure-all for major car maladies, it makes it much more likely that your mechanic will see a potential problem before it causes permanent damage.

Every mechanic or complete auto care facility will have a set price. But this cost is not the same for every garage. Compare a number of facilities with total cost and reputation in mind so that you can pick a reputable center that offers reasonable and affordable pricing schedules.

Is your car worth painting? I hate to say it, but there are lot of vehicles out there that aren't really worth the cost of a paint job. It's always a good idea to check on the value of your car or truck before you make the decision

Many car owners confuse polishing with waxing. But they're separate steps. Polishing removes small surface imperfections and scratches and buffs the finish to a shine.

In this day and age waxing is a thing of the past . Unless you really enjoy doing it. Most wax usually last a little more than a month if you really use your car or truck . The best bet today is a paint sealant, which will protect your finish when properly applied , for a year or more. As Chuck Wolf said you have rubbing out a car which consists of an aggressive rubbing compound, then you have polishing which is done with a fine compound. This should be followed up with a anti swirl glaze to remove any wheel marks. Finish it off with a good paint sealant. Some finishes might need a fine wet sand if they are really bad usually 2000 to 3000 grit paper. As always be careful not to rub or sand though the topcoat whether its clear-coat or a solid single stage color. most vehicles today are base-coat with a clear urethane for the topcoat. Good luck!

Very few vehicles complete their life span without visiting an auto repair shop and undergoing a major repair or overhaul of a component. Knowing that your car will need a repair or servicing is no issue, but the problem lies in finding the right auto shop that will give you quality service and not swindle you. It is easy to get that loyal mechanic who is like your car’s personal doctor. A high charging shop does not mean better quality and opting for one simply because of cost may end up in a slow death for your car. You can also get a good shop but not one that takes a whole week to service your car, costing you in inconveniences. It is important to find the balance between speed of service, quality and expense.

Buying new car spare parts is often a challenging task, especially for new car owners. But with the right knowledge, you can avoid wasting a huge amount of money or getting the wrong auto parts.
